A Simple New Moon Ritual You Can Do in 15 Minutes

By the Kosmy Heart team · 5 min read

The new moon marks the start of the lunar cycle, which is why many people see it as a natural time for fresh starts. You don’t need anything fancy to mark it. Here’s a calm, 15-minute ritual for real, busy life.

What you’ll need

1. Settle in (2 minutes)

Turn off the TV, silence your phone and light the candle. Take five slow breaths, letting each exhale be a little longer than the inhale.

2. Reflect (4 minutes)

Write a few lines about the past month. What felt good? What drained you? What are you ready to leave behind?

3. Set intentions (5 minutes)

Write three intentions for the coming month, in the present tense. Keep them simple and kind: “I rest without guilt.” “I say yes to new connections.” “I take care of my body.”

4. Choose one small action (2 minutes)

For each intention, note one tiny step you can take this week. Intentions plus action is where the magic tends to happen.

5. Close (2 minutes)

Read your intentions out loud, sip your water or tea, and blow out the candle. Fold the page and keep it somewhere you’ll see it.

Every month, the moon begins again. So can you.

On the next full moon, reread your page and notice what has shifted, even a little.
